We are researchers from the University of Washington looking for Fremont residents to participate in a research study called UrbanSim. UrbanSim is a urban simulation system that models how urban regions may be like in 20 years or more (kind of like SimCity, but with less fancy interface and real data). We are investigating whether the tools we have designed are meeting our goals of supporting a democratic urban planning process through two website sections: 1) by making information about simulation more readily available and easy to understand, and 2) by providing a framework in which organizations can present their views about which "indicators" of simulations pertain to specific issues of concern.

As a participant, you will meet with a researcher for about 90 minutes. You will interact with a website and be asked questions about your attitudes and perceptions. You will receive a $20 gift certificate. Please contact us at 206-616-6621 or urbansim-study@cs.washington.e­du
